Does anyone else think this would be a kickass idea? I mean, you'd have it be a bunch of thumb fighters in their cliche roles, approached by the sorcerer
Shang Thumb, who would appear to them and then shapeshift into a very slightly different thumb... they'd all get on a boat which instead of a dragon at the
helm as in the usual Mortal Kombat logo, it would be a big thumb. There they would be, on the boat, dealing with their overly serious personal problems and are
approached by Raythumb (it would be even more awesome if you could get Christopher Lambert to supply the voice) who would explain in an overly serious and
macabre way their situation. Maybe they'd stop to ponder some logical impossibilities of their situation and casually dismiss them. They'd get to the
island - and of course, they'd go over all the overly serious lines in the movie and try to take them overly seriously but break down - like Shang Thumb
might announce "It has bethumb!!! I mean... it has begun!!!" And then of course, when they finally do get down to the fighting... it's just
regular thumb wrestling done to the Mortal Kombat music, slightly modified to accommodate the modified title of the movie and the characters.... well, maybe
the "regular" thumb wrestling would get kind of weird with Scorpithumb and Thumb Zero shooting out harpoons and cold bolts... but then Scorpithumb
takes off his mask and it's the end of a fingerbone which shoots the fire out. Eventually they face off against Gorthumb, which is a hand with TWO thumbs,
or preferably some kind of deformed double-thumb, and the thumb wrestling fighters would just be defeated one after another and you'd have them taken up by
the drama in an overly serious sort of way and, well you get the idea. It's just so rich with possibilities - maybe not as rich as Star Wars - man, Thumb
Wars was so awesome - the only Star Wars satire that I'd say surpassed Hardware Wars! (And Spaceballs doesn't even deserve to be mentioned by
comparison).
